Kitchen Remodel Wows Client: She Blogs About New Kitchen "Reveal"


Kitchen design, custom cabinets and complete installation by Quaker Road AssociatesWe recently completed a kitchen for a client in her apartment in Westchester, and the results were so gratifying that she just had to blog about it.  In her blog, "Broadside," Caitlin Kelly tells the story of a total transformation of her kitchen from tired to terrific.  We were happy to help her realize her dream kitchen and even more pleased when she so publicly praised the work we did and collaborative process we enjoy so much.

Chappaqua Builder Bruce Woolf to Appear Oct. 16 on NBC's Home Improvement Show "George to the Rescue"

with design and installation of new kitchen

George-to-the-rescue-2CHAPPAQUA – October 1, 2010.  Award-winning kitchen and bath designer and builder Bruce Woolf and his Quaker Road Associates team are helping home improvement expert George Oliphant bring hope to a deserving family, the Martorells, of Brewster, NY, by providing them with a new kitchen. Mr. Martorell is a decorated NYC firefighter and his wife is recovering from blood cancer. Woolf and Quaker Road Associates provided their services free to aid this family in need, in a segment airing Saturday, October 16, at 10:00 a.m. on WNBC-TV (channel 4), and nationwide on ten NBC-owned stations.

“We feel privileged to help provide the Martorell family with their dream kitchen,” said Bruce Woolf, president of Quaker Road Associates. “Working with George gave us the opportunity to use our skills to give back to the community, and to make a difference in the lives of a true hero and his wife.”

Airing weekends nationwide and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. in the NY Metropolitan Area, “George to the Rescue” features home improvement expert George Oliphant’s visits to local communities across America bringing hope to deserving families and tackling home renovation projects.

“George to the Rescue” debuted in the popular LX.TV program “Open House”, which airs weekends on ten NBC Local Media Stations, which serve approximately one-third of the U.S. population. It is being expanded to a special half-hour program for the duration of its six-episode run.  “Open House” airs weekends on the NBC Local Media stations and via national syndication by NBC Universal Television distribution.

Quaker Road Associates Kitchen Design Wins NKBA Metro Area Competition


221_Kitchen_004Chappaqua, NY – October 30, 2009.  Quaker Road Associates created the winning design in the Large Kitchen design category at the first regional NKBA Design Competition in New York City held on October 21, 2009. The entrants in the prestigious competition represented the best work from members of the four New York Metropolitan Area chapters of the National Kitchen and Bath Association, comprising Manhattan, Metro New York, Northern New Jersey and Westchester. 

“Since we do everything in house, from initial design, through cabinet manufacturing and complete kitchen renovation and installation, this award is really represents the work of the entire staff at Quaker Road Associates,” said Bruce Woolf, president of Quaker Road Associates.  “We take particular pride in realizing a vision for a new kitchen or bath; making it both beautiful and a pleasure to live in.”  The award-winning kitchen can be seen on Quaker Road Associates' website at this link.

Judges of the designs submitted were Jamie Drake, ASID, Marsha Fried, CKD CBD (Kitchens by Deane), Jason Kontos, Editor-In-Chief, New York Spaces, Eliot Sefrin, Publisher, Kitchen & Bath Design News, and Calvin Tsao, AIA.  Entries were judged on visual appeal, creativity, the elements and principles of design, NKBA Kitchen and Bathroom Planning Guidelines and the NKBA Graphics and Presentation Standards.
